Video Activity 1

Part A: Take a picture of your screen (or a portion) using one of the built-in OS tools mentioned above.

Reduce the size of your image to less than 100K by using webresizer or another graphics tool.

Operating systemMac OSX 10.6.6 Snow Leopard
I used the Grab application to take a screen shot. Grab produced a 4.7 MB TIFF image which I uploaded to Go2Convert.com for resizing.

Screen capture performed with the Grab application.

Part B: Download and install Jing. Take a picture of your screen (or a portion). Label your image using the arrow tool and text tool.

Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.6 Snow Leopard
I used the Jing Pro application to take a screen shot of the school's website and then added an arrow and text to show where users can access teacher webpages. I used WebResizer.com to convert the image to a smaller size.

Part C: Using Jing, record a less than two-minute narration and explanation of a process (your choice) on your computer.

Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.6 Snow Leopard
I used Jing to film a tutorial on accessing the parent information form on my teacher webpage. I uploaded the completed video to YouTube.com, copied the embed code, and pasted it into the video widget box. (I found that only the old style code works with Wikispaces.)

Video Activity 2:

Create a short, 5-slide slideshow with accompanying music using an online app.

Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.6 Snow Leopard
I used PhotoPeach to create this video. I uploaded images from Flickr's Creative Commons and then added music from the application's music files. After finishing the video I clicked edit>quiz and added the questions and answers.
